Wet Room or Bath Room… how to decide?

Whether you need a wet room or a bath room ultimately depends on what suits, how accessible it is, and how it fits into your life.

A wet room is a significant commitment upstairs, and let’s face it; the very name implies invalid. It’s undoubtedly better to keep them downstairs. That’s not to say it has to be a drab room for a hosing-down – it’s still possible to be elegant in the execution, and there’s a lot to be said for allowing your active children to get muddy.

With the sheer range of cascade or waterfall showers on offer, the possibilities to create a little bit of a spa experience in the home is endless, cushion-budget permitting.

Baths increasingly seem enclosed, in a more open and naked world; rarely does anyone have time, such are the demands on it all – possibly a reason for the summer hot tub explosion, a desire to still soak in the luxury of a bath but have social interaction with it, a more ‘multi-tasking time.

I’m keeping mine though. It’s like a summer waterfall, and the kids love it.
