Moving house can be a very stressful yet exciting time. You may struggle to feel settled in your new home as often people move in without redecorating or being able to take all of their items with them. When you move in to your new home, you need to think what would make it feel more like yours. It may be that once you have your furniture in, hanging a few of your pictures or adding your scatter cushions help you to settle in. Other homes may require a bit more work and you may not be happy until you have completed the decorating or had that new kitchen installed.

Think about what made your old home nice and try and bring that in to your new house. Hanging up your curtains, changing light fittings and personalising the room with your knickknacks can really make you feel more relaxed in your new home and doesn’t take long to do.

Make a list of the positives about your new house and try to focus on them, you will often find that within a few months you start to feel happier and forget what all the fuss was about.
