When it comes to choosing between a bathroom and a wet room there are advantages and disadvantages to both. Wet rooms are super-stylish and perfect for creating a contemporary look.

If you have limited space then you may decide a wet room is best as you do not have to have shower screens etc so have more room to play with. Another advantage of a wet room is that it often easier to clean as there isn’t usually a screen of show tray and if you go for a wall-hung sink and toilet, it’s easier still.

Installing a wet room is a job for the professionals, as a gradient need to be created along the floor to channel the shower water into a drain and then the entire room needs to be waterproofed.

There are some disadvantages to having a wet room, especially if it is a small one where you are likely to get wet towels and toilet rolls from the spray of the shower. You need to pay a professional to all the waterproofing as if not done correctly it can cause damage, this can be costly.

If you are getting rid of a bathroom to create  w wet room you may find that it knocks some of the value off your home as most people like to have at least one bath.
