Replacing your bath with a walk-in shower

When a family has young children, having a bath in the bathroom is important as washing very young children in a shower is difficult as they often do not like to have water on their faces but people sometimes find that when there are only older children and adults living in the family home a shower is preferable.

Having a walk-in shower is generally favoured over a shower that is above a bath as there is a larger space in which to shower and it is easier to get in and out of it. This is important especially if there is someone in the household with mobility issues.

A walk-in shower can be installed in the same or smaller footprint as a bath and so can be a good idea if you are limited for space. If the shower could be situated in a corner of the bathroom then only two glass panels will be needed as two of the walls can be tiled. The plumbing for the shower is usually straightforward if it is installed near to where the plumbing for the original bath was however it is a sensible idea to get a professional plumber in to assess the best way to do this.
