Is your toilet using too much water?

Did you know that some older toilets can use up to and above 13 litres of water per flush whereas the more modern dual flush toilets are more efficient, using six litres for a full flush or four litres for a reduced flush. Considering in a family of six it may be flushed at least 20 times a day, that is a lot of water that is unnecessarily being used. Low-flow toilets save a lot of water, both by the flush and over time and this can save you money if you are on a water metre.

There are a number of ways in which you can reduce the water usage of your toilet. You may want to buy one that has been specifically designed to be more efficient such as a low flow toilet or you may decide to have some adjust made to your existing one.

If your toilet is quite old, then it may now be the time to replace it. Often people like to have a matching bath sink and toilet, but if you opt for a design that is relatively plain then you will usually find that no one would notice that are not from the same range.
