Reasons why a Carpet does not belong in a Bathroom

There are many homes out there that have carpets in the bathroom, and it may be nice to not have to step onto cold tiles, but the carpet will have issues over time. Moisture and carpets do not work, and while the carpet can look on decent shape on the outside, the moisture underneath can become seriously problematic.

Bathroom environments are damp, and carpets will often absorb the water, whereas on tiles the water simply sits on top and evaporates. The more hygienic option is to go for tiles bathroom flooring, and it seems to have been a 70s or 80s idea to have carpets in the bathroom and it should not be the case today.

If you have a carpet in the bathroom then consider having the flooring changes, because you could find water damages floor beneath the carpet meaning costly repairs, while it’s a lot more hygiene to wipe up dirt and bacteria than to have it sink into the carpet.
